Things don’t change. They are steady. You want them to change, but they don’t. As if stuck in a time warp, but your sanguity does’nt allow you to give up - waiting. You wait and wait, with every ounce of persevearance in use, but they don’t, things don’t change! Same eerie ,insidious steadiness…You shudder, shrug and at last realize it was ‘initiative’, ‘action’ that was lacking. Yes! and that ‘You’,‘You’ have to take it. ‘You ’ have to step up to the plate and make things happen because things are things- inanimate…and they won’t change all by themselves for that very reason! You have to give them that midas touch...
But is this limited just to things? No! Another biological entity possesses this trait—‘humans’ or ‘people’.
They also don’t change sometimes (whether for good or for bad is entirely a different question altogether). Now, here I am talking about the intellectual changes that may take place inside a human brain, but that blasé steadiness is observed here also and in bulk, be it in maturity or intellectual growth. Full Stop. It comes so easy and so early yet stays forever. You find full stops of all hues and sizes spread around:animate, inanimate, black, white. So risible yet so common. Cult of boredom, with no difference between today and tomorrow, past and future. Their life reduced to inanimate animation. 'Pause' button of a player - as if pressed for forever. Their ‘stepping plate’ either missing or not present at all !
You can shudder right here, this time, to remind yourself that this ought not be your story, that there is a wall separating you from the cult of boredom and that beyond that life is so beautiful! A journey extended to infinity, full of adventures and challenges, and to find yourself in that train itself can make everything else so secandory!
So shrug, so that you don't transform into ‘appalling wax works’ standing on ‘dead ends’.
